"A Circle of Angels" Special Edition Slay Angel

$30.00

We are so honoured to feature another very Special Edition Angel in the Circle of Angels Collection.

The "Slay Angel" Sun catcher has been inspired by the work of The Slay Society who works to raise awareness and support for the Caregivers of patients with Glioblastoma (GBM). The story behind The Slay Society is one that touches our hearts in a very personal way.

The Founder of this charity, Laura Dill lost both of her parents in 2020 to Glioblastoma (in the midst of the pandemic). The origin of our very own Circle of Angels was our Dad's journey with Glioblastoma and his desire to continue to pay forward all of the kindness that was bestowed upon him in his final months. He passed away in 2015.

After meeting Laura, hearing her story, and learning about how she's trying to help the Caregivers of patients with GBM - we just knew we had to create a special angel to support the Slay Society. Our common tragedy and shared purpose to pay forward all the kindness we've witnessed has brought us together in a very special way.

GBM is a very aggressive, very fast-growing brain tumour that is terminal. In Laura's words... "This disease doesn’t give you much time. And much of that time has very little quality of life. No one should have to go through this and struggle with the choice of being able to afford another hospital visit due to the cost of parking, or having to continue working to keep food on the table and juggling caregiving simultaneously."

This design features an amethyst coloured crystal angel (Laura's father's birthstone) with a delicate sword charm, surrounded by opalescent engraved wings (Laura's mother's birthstone was opal). Why the sword? Laura's father used to say... "Slay one dragon at a time" while on his GBM journey. This design represents that courageous journey and honours the people who've walked it.

Thank you to our friends at Engravables Design for their beautiful contribution to this design. A sun catcher, an ornament, a special keepsake or gift... you decide. We are truly grateful for your support.

Proceeds from this Special Edition Angels will be donated to the Slay Society to help them support more families and Caregivers. We know Dad would be so proud to see this Angel find its wings.
