Our 2020 Special Edition Christmas Angel was one of our most popular ornaments and only 100 were made).
When creating this year's design, we truly sat back and dug deep to create a special meaning for our annual Angel ornament. 2020 was filled with difficult emotions, seemingly unending change and for many... there was heartbreaking loss, distance, and hardship. But there were also been many reminders of our blessings and the realization of what truly matters... our people, not our possessions. Our memories and the opportunities to make more. The health and wellbeing of our loved ones. The acts of courage, kindness and selflessness that was required of us all.
This year's Angel was made with a baroque shaped Austrian (Swarov.) crystal instead of our usual cones. The facets are simply stunning and catch the light from every angle. We offered THREE different colour options: a rich dark pink, emerald green and iridescent. The angels are decorated with bright golden accents, multicoloured Austrian crystal heads and oversized angel wings.
The final touch was an extra special natural trochus shell (yes, actual shell) wing as a backdrop. This "third wing" is incredibly beautiful with a pearly white finish and etched feathery details. This third wing is symbolic of a "Borrowed Wing". A borrowed wing that has had to carry us in 2020, and a borrowed wing to honour the many Earth Angels who've helped us during our most difficult times this year.
May we never forget the sacrifices that our front line workers made and the many acts of kindness that we received, paid forward, or been witness to during the pandemic.
Each ornament will be tucked away inside a pretty organza gift bag, ready to give or ready to keep.
All proceeds will be donated to the three charities that we support: The Alberta Cancer Foundation, The Lupus Society of Alberta, and The Angels Anonymous Connection.
